Test Presents are proud to announce designer Peter Jensen as the ninth co-host
in their series of film screenings and talks. Each month, Test Presents
invite a different guest presenter to select a film that been a source of
inspiration and Jensen has chosen to show British sex comedy-drama ‘Rita,
Sue and Bob Too’. A portrait of working-class Yorkshire in the eighties, the
film is by turns serious and comedic juxtaposing the era’s difficult economic
climate and its effects with the casual sexual antics of its lead characters.
Describing the film’s influence, Jensen says, “I don’t think I have ever laughed
so much in my life. It had a profound effect on my life as it was really the final
decision for me to move and live in England.” Jensen will follow in the
footsteps of previous co-hosts including designer Roksanda Ilincic and The
Gentlewoman editor Penny Martin by introducing the film and discussing its
influence followed by a post-screening audience Q & A.
The film will screen on Thursday 15th March at 7.30pm at the Council
Chamber Screening Room, Town Hall Hotel, Bethnal Green.

Peter is one of the nominees for the DANSK Fashion Awards 2011, an annual event, which was established in 2008 to promote and celebrate Danish fashion. At a grand gala dinner at the New Carlsberg Glyptotek museum 16 prestigious awards are handed out – from the “Best Danish Designer of the year” to “Ethical Award of the Year”.
The vote takes place in a democratic manner, where everyone has the opportunity to vote for their favorites via this website. In 2010 there were over 100.000 visitors. After two weeks of voting, the nominees with the most votes in each category are found.
When the nominees are found it is up to a professional jury consisting of fashion experts to decide on the winner of each category, who are eventually revealed on the night of the awards.
